bearing no fruit, because he doesn’t remain in the Vine.  ShepherdDave is unfruitful, non-reproducing, with pre-believers.  Uncontagious.  Boring.  Independence never produces fruit, does not reproduce.  Worldliness.  Self-reliance.  Human-powered.
