that one day we Christians become so disillusioned with our human-wisdom that our eyes and thoughts are fixed on Jesus as we go through our day, doing NOTHing on our own, curious/expectant to see what He does NEXT, in us, others, circumstances, so we operate with Jesus-wisdom, not human-wisdom, so we operate with Jesus-power, not human-power, so seculars around us are wowed by the difference Jesus makes in our lives, and want what we have — other-worldly humility, other-worldly love, and the other-worldly power necessary to live dependently on Him.
Why is our human-wisdom so detrimental to our being fruitful with seculars? Because our human-wisdom makes us hypocrites — claiming the lordship of Jesus, but we are actually the lords of ourselves, just like the seculars around us. We only thank Jesus when our human-wisdom considers something thankable, so we constantly live in disobedience to His command to thank Him for everything. Human-wisdom doesn’t recognize the sovereignty of Jesus over every detail of our lives, so our human-wisdom leaves us feeling ALONE and in CHARGE of our daily lives. Striving, intensity, pressure. Human-wisdom and its human-power leave us saltless, fruitless, no reproduction, no harvest in our day, seed cast on thorny soil that does not reproduce, choked by the cares of human-wisdom.
When the Spirit opens our eyes to see the problem, we experience the benefit of CONFESSing our human-wisdom-reliance. Ahhh.
